15 Minute Friday #1

THIS POST CONTAINS AFFILIATE LINKS
Welcome to "15 Minute Fridays" - Week 1!

My fellow bento bloggers and I often receive inquiries regarding the amount of time it takes to make the bentos we post on our blogs.  Bentos don't have to be much more time consuming than a standard lunch!

Do you have a cute, easy bento that can be made in 15 minutes or less?  If so, feel free to join in!  It's simple!!  Copy the URL of your blog post (not your home page) and enter it into the linky below.  Click on the "Add Your Link" button to add yours and follow the steps.

It isn't necessary for your blog post to show a timer, but feel free to include that if you would like.

I would love for you to include a link back to my blog!

My 15 Minute Friday Lunch
I have to be honest.  The lunch I made for today's post took 15 minutes + 2 seconds.  I figured that was close enough and I hope you agree!

I started with only my cutting board and timer on the counter.  I set the timer to countdown from 15 minutes and got busy!
When the timer went off at 15 minutes, I literally had one flower left to place in one of the lunchboxes.  I went ahead and placed it and added a flower pick, which combined took 2 additional seconds.
My 15 minutes did not include clean-up, but that only took a few minutes.  It did, however, give me time to make 2 quick and healthy lunches, plus my own lunch which consisted of the scraps from the bentos.  I do not believe in waste, so I always find a use for my scraps.  I also pre-wash all of my produce when I get home from the grocery store, so I did not have to include that in my bento prep.
What's in the Box?
Apple Sandwich with Sun Butter & Raisins
Kidney Beans with Orange & Yellow Carrot Flowers
Lettuce, Celery, Broccoli
Flowers made from Cucumber, Golden Beet & Watermelon Radishes
Strawberry & Blueberries

My own lunch wasn't as pretty, but it still tasted good!
I hope you will link up and I can't wait to see all the fast & healthy lunches you have made this week!

  4. What a great idea! I love it. I think you have inspired me to put a little more care, and a little less time, into my lunches! Though it still takes some time to think up what you want to eat.
