Car Bento

Super Tot has been asking me to make a car bento on a daily basis.  This isn't exactly what he (or I) had in mind, but I threw this one together today.  I had an appointment this morning, so I didn't have time to do something more complicated this time, but he was happy!

Turtle Bento

Today's bento reflects how I am feeling today...S-L-O-W!  For some reason I am dragging today, so I thought I'd humor myself and make a turtle bento.  Hope you enjoy it!

Lil' Pandas

It's grocery store time for me, so I didn't have a lot of options in the refrigerator today.  That meant nothing fancy - just a couple of simple little pandas.

Bert & Ernie Bento

My original plan today was to do a different bento, but I realized I didn't have one of the necessary items to do that one.  I had already colored my rice, so I was stuck doing something orange.  I also had some leftover yellow rice from yesterday, so I quickly realized I could do Bert and Ernie from Sesame Street!
Bert - Yellow Rice (colored w/ turmeric), Orange Rice Nose (colored with pureed carrots),
Nori, Bell Pepper & Pre-made Wilton Eyes
Ernie - Orange Rice (colored with pureed carrots & sesame oil), Tomato Nose, Bell Pepper, Fish Sausage, Nori & Pre-made Wilton Eyes
Additional Bento Ingredients (some are under Bert & Ernie):
Tomato, Steamed Broccoli, Bell Pepper, Lettuce, Baby Corn,
Celery, Cheese, Black Olives, Clementine, Kiwi

Giraffe Bento

I honestly didn't know what I was going to do for today's bento.  I wanted to use turmeric in the rice, so I knew it was going to be yellow.  I used a little too much, so I got a very dark yellow.  When I saw the color, two images popped into my head - a school bus and a giraffe.  I thought the giraffe might look cuter with the items I had on hand, so I hand formed one with plastic wrap to see what it would look like.  I was happy with the result, so I stuck with the giraffe!

Roll Those Dice!!

I love to participate in the weekly Bento of the Week meme at Bento Blog Network. The upcoming theme starting this Friday is "Leftovers".

Leftovers can be tricky.  Sometimes, they are perfect for bento boxes, but other times they don't work out so well.  I decided to take a chance and "roll the dice" with some leftovers I had in the refrigerator...

Berry Delicious!

I had a little fun with our quail eggs today!  The bento boxes I used for today's lunch are shaped like strawberries, so I thought I'd continue that theme inside the box.
